From 1931-1967 ancient, dense rock was quarried from this mountain for structures like the Brooklyn Bridge.

The stones found at this location contain this history. They have been carved, drilled, split, rejoined, bolted to steel or embedded in concrete, 

The supports for these natural stone artifacts are composed of hand built mechanical components and structural metal plates. They are reminiscent of bridges and buildings constructed from steel and quarried stone.
