Rejoined Zinc Core (41°4'54.92"N, 74°36'21.25"W)

These core samples were all collected from the Sterling Hill Zinc Mine. They are rejoined by casting zinc, the main metal that was extracted from this site, directly into the stone. The raw stone in these sculptures echoes the metallic alloys that compose its cast support structure, linking the core samples back to the process of extraction from this particular zinc mine.
