Rejoined Zinc Cores
(Sterling Hill Zinc Mine 41°04’57.0”N 74°36’18.5”W)

Stone core samples are a bi-product of mining industries exploratory drilling practices. Samples are taken and analyzed in the pursuit of extracting  the metal rich "ore-body".

These core samples are rejoined using zinc, the main metal that was extracted from the site at which they were found.

The raw stone core echoes the refined metallic alloys that compose its cast support structure, highlighting the process of extraction at this particular zinc mine.
